Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't I see my entire course history (since I started with Bruyère)?

You will notice that only recent course history has been uploaded to the new LMS, more specifically, only the last 3 years of mandatory training history.  Rest assured, all course history has been exported and securely stored for future reference if required.

How will I know when I must complete mandatory training?

As soon as you login to the new Learning Management System you will be brought to your dashboard.  Under the heading Compliance Training you will have a clear snapshot of the mandatory training you must complete.   You should also receive an email automatically, reminding you to complete training that is going to be coming due.

Why don't I see ALL of the courses I do/have done in my progress report?

Your progress report is set up to highlight the mandatory courses you need to do for your role.  We DO encourage you to explore and complete modules that are of interest to you, you can see your progress on these elective courses on your dashboard page under course overview.

Can I apply for an exemption if I've already taken a similar course somewhere else?

Learners can apply for course equivalencies if they feel they have already taken a course that meets the objectives of a course offered by Bruyère.  Just look under the Navigation block on the left hand side and select Equivalencies. Once a learner applies for an equivalency, KIWI will send their manager an email notification and it is then up to the manager to accept or reject their application.

Bruyère managers can approve as equivalencies any eModules developed/delivered by our partners in the region (Montfort, CHEO, TOH, The Royal and QCH). For any other eModules developed by other providers, managers should consult with learning@bruyere.org before approving.

It looks like the courses I am assigned to are not related to my job, I think I have been assigned to the wrong program, who should I contact?

Please contact learning@bruyere.org and we would be happy to look into this for you.  It is possible you are not assigned to the appropriate program.

I started a course and closed it to finish later, now it looks like I haven't made any progress, do I have to restart?

First, try switching languages in the LMS.  Sometimes, if you start a course in one language and then go back in another language it will not show your progress.  If you have checked in both French and English and still don't see any progress, please contact the LMS administrator.

Why do I see some of my staff more than once when I pull a program completion report?

The program completion report will show one line, per staff, per program.  If your employee is assigned to multiple programs, they will appear in the report once for each program they are assigned. 

What if I forget my password?

Your login credentials for the LMS are the same as your Bruyère network username and password.  If you do not remember your Bruyère password you can reset it using this link, if you are on site at Bruyere (or on the Bruyère network).  Otherwise please call helpdesk at 613-562-6262 x 5555. 

If you used the self-registration option to create an account and you forgot your password you can select the password reset option and you will receive an email to reset your password.

Will the content meet accessibility standards?

Your learning team works hard to ensure content is accessible to all individuals, regardless of abilities. Can I access any courses outside of the Bruyère catalogue?

Yes!  You have access to a variety of courses hosted by other organizations by clicking on OCI Marketplace under the Course Catalogue tab at the top of the page.
